Thank you ALL for all the votes!! Don't forget to vote every day until midnight September 16th!! We need all the votes we can get!!

Just go to http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com and click on the "Shelter Challenge" tab on the right. Then click on Costa Rica for the country and click search. Click on Lighthouse and click vote!!! Then type in the letters/numbers that appear to confirm your vote!! That's all there is to it!! The next time you vote there should be a message just below the search thingy that says, "This is the shelter you voted for during your last visit. If it says Lighthouse then all you gotta do is click VOTE!! Ya don't have to search for it anymore after the first time!!

Mom was looking through some old pics and found this one of us a few years back during a thunder storm. Mom had to run out into the storm to get some of us who ran out in fright. She was WET!!!
We haven't had as many bad storms this rainy season and we're all glad about that. But Mom still comforts us when there is one.

We found another funny cat picture and we thought you'd get a kick out of it! Cats sure can be goofy sometimes but we love ours.

We have a couple of cats that come here for lunch. All of our cats just lay around and watch the strays eat. They don't try to run them away unless they come at night. They don't mind them coming for lunch but I think the probably don't want the other cats to sleep here.

We've got a volunteer coming today!! That means some of us are gonna get baths!! And of course LOTS of extra belly rubs!!!

Mom says the sign we're attaching today needs to be duplicated in mass and posted all over Costa Rica!! GPS's don't work all that great here!! Our guests bought one for here and it has gotten them lost SEVERAL times!!! WAGWAGWAG!!

Someone is throwing poison out in the area of a popular chicharone restaurant in Morazan!! Some animals have died from it!!!  If there is poison being put out there then it is a hazard not only to the animals but also to children. AND, if you walk there you could bring it home on your shoes to your own dogs!!!
ALSO....dogs have been poisoned in the area of Pavas!! PLEASE BE CAREFUL!!!! Keep your dogs in!!!!! And don't go to these areas and risk spreading the poison around to your own animals!!!
